On Friday, October 2, 2026, the Adair County Sheriff's Office received information that a fugitive from Cobb County, Georgia was residing on a houseboat at Holmes Bend Marina.
Deputy Ricky Shirley located and arrested 31-year-old Ajuan D. Lyles from Marietta, Georgia on the following charges:
- False statement/written facts to the government &
- Aggravated Cruelty to animals (2 counts).
Lyles will be extradited back to Cobb County to face these charges.
