On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a 2-vehicle injury collision between a passenger car and a semi truck at the intersection of Hwy N55 and Cane Valley Road.
A 15-year-old male juvenile of Columbia was operating a 2007 Toyota Camry, and attempted to make a left hand turn from Cane Valley Rd on HWY 55 and pulled into the path of a 2007 Peterbilt being operated by Benjamin Hardin of Campbellsville, which was traveling northbound on HWY55.
The male juvenile was airlifted to a Lexington hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
The accident is being investigated by Deputy Ricky Shirley who was assisted on scene by Adair EMS, the Columbia-Adair Fire Dept, and the State Highway Department.
