On Thursday, October 15, 2026 at approximately 12:28pmCT, officers with the Columbia Police Department were dispatched to assist Kentucky Probation and Parole at a local residence.

Patricia D. Smothers, 68, of Columbia, KY was arrested without incident and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.

Columbia Police Officer Elliot Smith was the arresting officer and was assisted by Columbia Police Lieutenant Justin Cross.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
