An 18-year-old local resident was airlifted to U.K. Medical Center on Sunday morning following a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck south of town.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Kentucky 379 (Hales Highway), French Valley Road, and Blair School Road, approximately three miles south of Russell Springs.
According to Russell County Deputy Sheriff Nathan Bradshaw, 18-year-old Nathan White of Russell Springs was traveling west on French Valley Road operating a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle. Deputy Bradshaw reported that White brought his vehicle to a stop at the intersection stop sign before attempting to cross Hales Highway onto Blair School Road. As he entered the roadway, White struck a southbound Ford F-150 driven by 63-year-old David Mann of Liberty.
EMS personnel treated White at the scene before transporting him to the Russell County Airport. From there, he was flown by emergency helicopter to U.K. Medical Center for further treatment of his injuries.
According to Bradshaw, Mann was not injuried in the collision.
