This is Chris Money from Russell county search and rescue. In regards to the recent inquiries as to why another local group has not been requested on recent drownings. all lost missing or overdue people in the state of Kentucky fall under the jurisdiction of Kentucky emergency management. Russell County search and rescue is a division of KYEM and also have the County affiliation agreement for all water recovery in Russell County. Russell County search and rescue is more than capable with certified divers, tow fish sonar, and ROV capabilities. If and when any other agencies in our county are more capable than we are, they will then be considered for request.  If there are any divers in the county or anyone interested in diving, they are welcome to fill out an application with Russell County search and rescue to help in our efforts.
