The Russell County High School Mighty Laker Band is rallying its community to support a grieving family following a profound tragedy.

The band will host a Community Performance and Soup Dinner Fundraiser on Tuesday, November 3, with all proceeds from the dinner directly supporting a student of the Dobyns-Bennett High School Band in Tennessee.

The fundraiser comes in the wake of a devastating tragedy involving the Dobyns-Bennett band family. The student's parents, Brandi Elmore and Brian Elmore, were tragically killed while returning home from a Bands of America event on November 2.

In response, the Russell County Band has stepped forward to offer financial help, thoughts, prayers, and solidarity during this unimaginably difficult time.

Soup Dinner: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Cost is $5, which includes a bowl of soup, dessert, and a drink)

Band Performance & Senior Recognition: 6:30 PM

Community members, families, and supporters are encouraged to attend the dinner and stay for the community performance to help raise funds.
