Leona Jean Lane, 68 years, 1 month and 8 days of age, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Leona was born on August 22, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of the late Homer Ray and Stella Marie Cook Sanders. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her In Laws, John K. and Ethel Lane.
After living in Indianapolis for many years, she moved to Campbellsville where she went to worked prior to her retirement as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab, formerly Medco, as well as a cashier for the Family Dollar Store. She was a member of the General Assembly Church of the First Born.
Leona is survived by her husband, Harold Dee Lane as well as her children, Leon Davis Satterfield of Columbia, Jack Satterfield, Michael Lane, Justin Lane, Sherry Russellburg, Barry Lane and Tammy Ward all of Campbellsville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Courtney Imus, Dallas Shuman and Autumn Edward of Campbellsville, Ernie Imus and Matthew Imus of Mayfield, 8 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Patricia Nicalaou and Chiqutia Boyd, both of Indianapolis, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Leona Jean Lane will be held at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Lane and Bro. Marvin Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Casey County at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation for Leona will be at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time until time for the service on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY.
