Donnie J. Wheeler, the son of the late Jay and Ida Mae Loy Wheeler, was born Monday, May 2, 1955 in Columbia and departed this life on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home in the Chance Community of Adair County. He was 62 years, 5 months and 25 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. Donnie was a farmer and former oil well driller and well serviceman for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheeler's and most of all, his family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter: Melissa Patrick and husband Jeff of Crossville, Tennessee; seven sisters: Jeannie (Kerry) Cox of Mannsville, Linda Hendrickson and husband J.W., Connie Wheeler, Phyllis McHam & spouse Jerry Kearney, Patricia Wheeler, Diane Hatcher and husband Doug and Sandy Wheeler all of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren: Blaine and Colby Pennington, Ambree and Brayden Patrick; his special friends: Herbert and Charlene Turner of Chance and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Donnie J. Wheeler, will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM CST at the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church at Chance with burial to follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Dr. Michelle McHam Perry and Larry Turner will be officiating.
Visitation after 1:00 P.M. CST at the church.
