Born on October 4, 1970, in Norwalk, California, he was a grandson of Rod and the late Dorothy Goode. Tom was a welder. He enjoyed baseball and UK basketball. He was an all-around goofy soul.
In addition to his grandfather, he is survived by his son, David Acoya of Windsor; a sister, Christine Tucker Smith of Russell Springs; aunts; Bernadette Luttrell of Liberty, Mary Stokes of Norwalk, California, and Kelly Dukepoo of London. He is also survived by his cousins, Caleb Wells of Liberty, Dorothy Cooper of Liberty, and David Melton of Watertown, New York; as well as many other family and friends.
In addition to his grandmother, Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Ardis Acoya.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fenwick officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions of sympathy may be made to the funeral home to assist the family of Mr. Acoya with funeral expenses.
