Bobbie Reid Shirley, age 74 of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Edwin Paul Shirley and Dorothy Harris Shirley, was born on Friday, October 1, 1943 and departed this life Sunday, February 25, 2018 at his home in the Ebenezer Community.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. He was a self-employed carpenter and electrician, and a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maedell Akin Shirley of Greensburg having united in marriage on May 10, 1967.
Other survivors include a daughter: Teresa Jo Shirley of Greensburg; two sisters and brother-in-law: Sharon Fay and Bobby Blakeman and Sheila Phillips all of Greensburg; other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Herman and Eldora Akin of Springfield, Wallace and Linda Akin, and Buford Akin all of Greensburg; special friends: Brandy Williams, Bobby Durrett, and Justin Durrett all of Greensburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service: 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
Burial: Union Chapel Cemetery in Metcalfe County with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation: 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Ebenezer Cemetery Fund or the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, which can be made at the funeral home.
