BESSIE BLEDSOE, 97, ADAIR CO.

 
Bessie Bledsoe, 97, of the Bakerton Community of Adair County, KY passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 7:40 PM at the T J Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY after several weeks illness. She was born June 3, 1920 in Monroe County, KY, the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Mary Susie Hale Turner.
 
Mrs. Bledsoe was a member of the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and many other books. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and growing exotic orchids.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Murrell Bledsoe on November 12, 1987,  siblings: Wendell Turner, Margie Ford, Zella Burris, Neva Hale & Hettie Wheet;  2 sons-in-law: Creed Lacy & Bob Turner; and by her “adopted son” Lonnie McWhorter.
 
SURVIVORS:
1 son: Paul Bledsoe and wife Carolyn of Columbia, KY
3 daughters:  Willa Lacy of Fairplay, KY; Ernestine Netherton of Fairplay, KY; Paulette Turner of Shepherdsville, KY
5 grandchildren: Kevin Turner, Mackie Jo Pennington, Tamara Davidson, Dorinda Morrison & Angie Hanka     
3 great grandchildren 
 
Funeral Service: Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with  Bro. Elbert Hadley officiating
 
Interment: Hardin Hadley Cemetery at Bakerton, KY
 
Visitation: Saturday, May 26, 2018 after 3pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
