MARY HAM RAY, 85, LIBERTY

 

Mary Elizabeth Ham Ray, age 85, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Casey County Hospital. She was born in Hampton Beach, Virginia on October 29, 1932. 
 
After living in Texas, Georgia and Hawaii, she moved to Liberty, KY from Key West, Florida, in 2011. She went back to school in her 40s to achieve her goal of becoming a registered nurse, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Texas State University.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years: John Pearl Ray Jr., MD; a newborn daughter: Caroline Redd Ray; 1 brother: Brent Holland; and 1 son-in-law: William Streeter.  
 
SURVIVORS:
4 children: Anne Streeter of Liberty; Julia Williams & Susan Kent of Fayetteville, AR; John Pearl Ray III of Lubbock, TX
1 brother: Robert Holland of Seattle, WA
5 grandchildren: Joshua Williams, Kate Williams-Moore, Kim King, Sarah Bull & Braden Bull of Fayetteville/Bentonville, AR
5 great-grandchildren: Kenzie King, Grace Chapman, Calliope Bull, Carmen Bull, & Shea Poppy Bull of Fayetteville/Bentonville, Arkansas
 
The family wishes to thank the superior and compassionate care provided by the staff of Casey County Hospital, Liberty Care Center and Lifeline Health Care of Casey County.
