William Derrell Willoughby, Sr, 78, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late William Andrew & Lolita Lambert Willoughby, was born September 4, 1939 in Scottsville, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his home.
He spent his adult life as a construction worker, having built highways and developed land for construction of buildings. He came to Campbellsville to attend Campbellsville College on a Basketball Scholarship and met the lady that became his wife, Virginia Lee “Ginny” Smothers, who preceded him in death.
Derrell, as most people knew him by enjoyed fishing, working in the garden, UK Basketball, listening to oldies music and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

2 brothers: Wendell Willoughby & wife Judy, and Ted Willoughby all of Scottsville, KY
3 grandchildren: Lucas Parsons, Sarah Parsons & companion Michael Moore, and Wyatt Parsons & companion Kimberly Swears all of Campbellsville, KY
1 great-grandchild: Isaiah Parsons

Memorial Service: Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:00pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville
Visitation: Sunday, August 5, 2018 after 1:00pmET until time for the service
