Obituaries
 
Earldeen A. “Deen” Smith, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of the late Earl Atwood and Hazel Irene Dunn Atwood, was born July 22, 1939, in Simpson County, KY. She died at 10:45 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2018 in Louisville.
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church where she had held several positions, including being a member of the choir, the Susan Loy Circle and the Board of Trustees. She was a member of the Campbellsville Women’s Club and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Deen was a retired schoolteacher having taught in schools in Kentucky and Ohio for more than 40 years and almost 30 of those were with the Taylor County School System.
 
She united in marriage to Tom H. Smith June 20, 1960.
 
Besides her husband, Tom Smith of Campbellsville, she is survived by 2 daughters: Tommi Hamilton and husband, Bob of Montgomery, Texas and Terri Gabriel and husband, T. J. of Gainesville, Georgia; 5 grandchildren: Derek Hamilton of Austin, Texas, Dagny Hamilton of Bowling Green, Davis Gabriel, Elliot Gabriel and Hayes Gabriel of Gainesville, Georgia; one sister, Wilma Thompson of Scottsville, KY and many other relatives and friends.
