Otha Jay Brown, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, at the Russell County Hospital. Born October 22, 1932, in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Roosevelt & Elzie Lawless Brown.
Otha was a self-employed auto mechanic and attended First Baptist Church of Russell Springs. He was a US Army Veteran with two years of dedicated service. Otha loved his family, friends, and most of all, his Lord Jesus Christ. In every conversation, he wanted to talk about his Savior and the great hunting and fishing moments he had experienced.
SURVIVORS: his beloved wife, Betty Lou Hudson Brown of Russell Springs; 1 daughter, Karla (Dwight) Bastin of Russell Springs; 2 step-sons, Mark Stapp of Laurel, Mississippi, and Chris (Tammy) Stapp of Russell Springs; 1 brother, Lewis (Sarah) Brown of Danville; 2 grandchildren, Jami (Michael) West of Somerset, and Amanda (Larry) Hughes of Salvisa; 5 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ashlynn, Anna, Ava, and Ansley; and “pa” to four step grandchildren, Daniel, Samuel, Rebecca, and Luke; a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Otha was preceded in death by his former wife, Nadine Fights; 3 brothers: Ernest Brown, Marvin Brown & Lester Brown; 1 sister: Opal Atwood.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:30pmET at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Brother Michael West officiating
Burial: Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard
