Sam Pelly, 102, of Columbia, KY died peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the same home he was born in on January 24, 1917.
Mr. Pelly was preceded in death by his parents Oliver Cromwell and Mary Elizabeth Evans Pelly and his wife of 74 years Mary McKinley Pelly, who preceded him in 2016.
Mr. Pelly was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church. He loved gardening, taking care of his family farm and spending time with all of his family.

1 daughter: Linda Pelly of Louisville, KY
1 granddaughter: Erin Finnegan (Patrick) of Chapel Hill, NC
3 great grandchildren: Sam, Will and Hadley Finnegan all of Chapel Hill, NC
1 sister: Wilma Ballou of Henderson, KY

Funeral Service: 10:00amCT on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
Burial: Columbia Cemetery
Visitation: After 4:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home
Pallbearers: David Hutchison, Trevor Murphy, Todd Cundiff, David Pelly, Myron Kean, John Holladay, Tom Holladay, Roger Benningfield and Greg Eastham.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Columbia United Methodist Church, Egypt Christian Church or Hosparus of Green River.
