Terry Steven Burton, Sr., 67, of Bracken County, KY died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Columbia, KY on May 11, 1951 to the late James Leonard Burton and the late Virginia Sinclair Burton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Gilbert Burton and Wendell Burton; and 1 sister, Peggy Jo Fletcher.
He graduated from Ludlow High School in 1969 and worked at Kroger, in Cincinnati, until he and his wife Diane moved to their Bracken County farm in 1984. Terry raised tobacco, cattle and 4-H hogs with his sons. He coached basketball and little league baseball and loved country music, fishing, hunting and attending his grandchildren’s ballgames. He was a member of Willow Baptist Church and retired from JWF Tech in 2013.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Diane Graszus Burton, who he married in 1973; 2 sons, Terry Steven “T.J.” (Aleeca) Burton, Jr., of Bracken County, and Jacob Daniel (Melissa) Burton, of Louisville; 5 grandchildren, Ella Burton, Taylor Burton, Gavin Burton, Blake Burton and Ava Burton; 4 brothers, Homer (Ruth) Burton, Randall (Janice) Burton, Garry Burton and Rickey Burton; 1 sister, Barbara Fuhr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Willow Baptist Church with Pastor Trent Keeton officiating
Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 at the church
Burial: Willow Baptist Church Cemetery
