JAMES WILLIAM "BILL" COLVIN, 77, GREENSBURG

 
James William “Bill” Colvin, 77, was born January 24, 1942 in Marion County KY to the late Bradley and Agnes Puryear Colvin. He departed this life Saturday, April 27, 2019 at his home in Greensburg, KY.
 
Bill had made a profession of faith and was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Greensburg. He was a graduate of Campbellsville College and the University of Louisville School of Law. He began practicing law in Greensburg in 1973 and continued until 2017. He was best known by his family as being a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father, and doting Papaw to his grandchildren and great grandchild. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one son: Steven Trent Colvin.

Wife of 57 years: Margaret Lois Pendleton Colvin
1 daughter: Connie Shuffett & husband Stanley Robert Shuffett
3 grandchildren: Kiley & Daniel Bennett, Alex & Kenzie Colvin, and Landon & Kaitlyn Shuffett
1 great grandchild: Fischer Trent Colvin
2 brothers & 6 sisters: William Cleatus & Linda Colvin, Donald & Pam Colvin, Viola Brown, Pauline & Dave Wren, Margaret & Paul Brockman, Sue Colvin, Wanda & Johnny Abell and Barbara & Mike Shaw
1 sister-in-law: Jean Pendleton Blakeman
1 brother-in-law: James Pendleton

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 1:00pmCT at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home 
 
Visitation: Monday, April 29, 2019 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Tuesday, April 30, 2019 after 7:00amCT
 
Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Garden
 
Pallbearers: Wayne Edwards, John Henderson, Ron Rodgers, Eddie Goode, Rev Dale Curry, Mark Blakeman.
 
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Shriners Hospital. These can be made at the funeral home.
