REV. BEN SPENCER, 92, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Rev. Ben Spencer, 92, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late James Spencer and Myrtle Burnett Spencer, was born January 13, 1927 in Wolfe County, KY. He died at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Campbellsville.    
 
He was a faithful servant of Christ and devoted minister for over 63 years. He, along with others built the East Campbellsville Church of God and its campground.  He was the pastor at East Campbellsville Church of God for 40+ years and was pastor emeritus. He was involved in mission work in Haiti and Jamaica and raised money for the Fe India Children’s Mission. He was an evangelist and had a radio ministry for 25 years. He was a talented musician, songwriter, writing many soul winning songs and wood craftsman. 
 
He loved his family and his church family.  He, without a doubt led hundreds if not thousands to Christ. Only heaven will show the impact of his life and ministry. Bro. Spencer was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army and United States Air Force and received the World War II Victory Ribbon and the Army Occupational Medal.
 
SURVIVORS: Wife: Shirley Spencer of Campbellsville, KY whom he married April 19, 1956; 3 sons & 5 daughters: Marty Spencer & wife Dana, Brian Spencer & wife Michelle and Tonya Hagan & husband Greg of Campbellsville, Djuana Nolley & husband Greg of Elk Horn, Dwayne Spencer & wife Tammy of Cookeville, Tennessee, Lori Perez & husband Ramiro of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Rhonda Nunez & husband Luis of Homestead, Florida and Barbara Jean Swenson & husband Pete of Lebanon, Missouri; 1 daughter-in-law, Denise Spencer of Campbellsville; 37 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Viola Little of Wolfe County, KY; several nieces & nephews and many other relatives & friends, including his family at East Campbellsville Church of God.
 
He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Bro. Robbie Spencer and Stephen Spencer; a grandson, Dalin Spencer and several brothers and sisters.
