CHARLES HENRY GREEN, 85, COLUMBIA


Charles Henry Green, 85, of Columbia, KY died Monday, July 20, 2020 at his residence.  Born in the Gadberry community of Adair County, KY he was the son of the late Walter and Daisy Gadberry Green.

 

Mr. Green was a member of the Worldwide Church of God, a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of VFW Post 6097.  He was a self-taught musician, playing many instruments. He also enjoyed bird hunting and fishing.

 

SURVIVORS:

Wife of 62 years: Alma Long Green

1 daughter: Sherry Parnell (Mike) of Columbia, KY

1 granddaughter: Benisha Parnell of Columbia, KY

2 grandchildren: Chandler Wilson and Alyssa Wilson both of Columbia, KY

3 brothers: Darrell “Buddy” Green and Allen Green (Patty) both of Columbia, KY; Walter Floyd Green (Beannie) of Glasgow, KY

1 sister: Reda Faye Dykes of Louisville, KY

Several nieces and nephews

 

Funeral Service: 1:00pmCT on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home 

 

Burial: Jones Chapel Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 6097

 

Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and on Wednesday morning until time for the service
