George Ison, Jr., 98, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his home. He was born April 14, 1922 in Jenkins, KY to the late Steve & Nanny Ison.
Mr. Ison was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Army from Sept 1941 to 1945, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was retired as a powerhouse operator with the U.S. Corp of Engineers at Wolf Creek Dam, was a Mason of 60 years with Jamestown Lodge, and a member of the Russell Springs United Methodist Church.

2 daughters: Sheila (Dean) McKinley, and Kathy (Daryl) Hammond, of Russell Springs, KY
1 grandson: George Barton (Alison) Hammond, Lexington, KY
Funeral Service: Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:30amCT at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Charles Edwards officiating
Visitation: Beginning at 9:30amCT on Friday
Interment: Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy
