Obituaries

GARY GLENN GOODIN, 71, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Gary Glenn Goodin, 71, of Campbellsville, KY passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at his home. He was born on June 24, 1949 in Taylor County, son of the late Glenn Vilie and Ollie Alice (Roberts) Goodin.

 
Mr. Goodin had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Elkhorn United Methodist Church. He was a former truck driver and an employee of the Boco Station. He had served his community as a Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy lake patrolman, and served his country honorably in the National Guard. Mr. Goodin loved people and had a naturally helpful heart. He enjoyed keeping his yard neat and in order, and shared many laughs with his family over a plate of frog legs.

 

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Goodin.

 

SURVIVORS:

Wife: Sue Gilpin Goodin, Campbellsville, KY

2 sons: Matt Gooding & wife Lesley of Greensburg, KY; Greg Walker & wife Jamie of Indiana

4 sisters: Linda williams & husband Richard, Delma Wise & husband Willard, and Shirley Newton & husband Dale all of Campbellsville, KY; Sherry Cowan & husband Phillip of Columbia, KY

4 grandchildren

A host of other relatives & friends

 

Funeral Service: Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00amET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home

 

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens

 

Visitation: Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET at the funeral home

 

Current CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.

 

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to the Elkhorn United Methodist Church Youth Group. Those can be made in person at the funeral home, or online through the “How Can I Help” tab on the front page of the funeral home website.
