Obituaries

CHARLES CLAUDE CAPE, 70, JAMESTOWN, KY


Charles Claude Cape, 70, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Born on April 17, 1950 in Somerset, KY, he was the son of the late Lilburn and Margie Dykes Cape. 
 

Charles Claude was the former owner and operator of Russell County Appliance Center and a school bus driver for the Russell County Board of Education. He drove the bus for the Russell County Marching Band for many years. Charles Claude was also a founding member of the Lake Cumberland Antique Auto Club as well as a member of the Ol Boys Toys Auto Club. He attended Russell Springs Christian Church.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 daughters: Cara Lane Cape (Winston) Simmons of Simpsonville, KY; Claudia Cape of Bowling Green, KY; April Dawn Mason of Chickamauga, Georgia

2 grandchildren, Lane Marie Cape and Joseph Bailey Mason, III

1 sister: Fannie Lou Cape of Texas

2 nephews: Mike Ragle and Steve Ragle

1 niece: Susie Ragle

 

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM CST on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Welker officiating
 

Burial: Cape Cemetery

 

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 PM CST on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Bernard Funeral Home

 

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required. 


Pallbearers: Gary Carey, Brandon Hubbard, Mike Ragle, Dennis Gosser, Jessie Tucker, Darin Ettner, Kyle Knigga, and Jack Herrington.
 

Honorary Pallbearers: Derek Coffey, Dale Hubbard, Steve Ragle, and Preacher Tucker 
 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Russell Springs Christian Church, P.O. Box 1207, Russell Springs, KY 42642 or to the Cape Cemetery Fund, c/o Cara Lane Cape Simmons, 1210 Evergreen Way, Simpsonville, KY 40067.
