Gene Wayne Barnes, 78, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Russell County Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1943 in Russell County, KY, the son of the late Joseph B. and Dollie Mae Wilson Barnes.
Gene married Joyce Kilpatrick on December 20, 1961.
He was the owner and operator of Russell Springs Milling Company for over 60 years and was a member of Russell Springs Christian Church.

3 grandchildren: Joseph Trevor Barnes (and Kirsten Haste), Nicholas Wayne Barnes (and Chandra), and Kaitlyn McQueary (and Dylan)
Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers: William “Billy” Barnes and Joseph McDowell Barnes.

Burial: Russell Springs City Cemetery
