Verlene Sapp Adams, 82, of Somerset, KY (formerly of Columbia, KY) died Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was born on February 26, 1939 to the late John Quincy and Lillie Savannah Rich Sapp.
Ms. Adams was a member of the Barnett’s Creek United Methodist Church and most recently attended the Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Arnold, Bennie and Ernie Sapp and a sister, Biner Hayes.

7 grandchildren: Daniel Adams (Ashley) of Columbia, KY, Devon Jett (Jimmy) of Dallas, TX, Darren Adams (Lori) of Columbia, KY, Ryan Adams (Paige) of Lexington, KY, Caleb Adams (Kaycee) of Berea, KY, Jacob Adams (Sarah) of Limerick, Ireland and Logan Adams of Louisville, KY
5 great-grandchildren: Mason Adams, Anderson Jett, Ethan Jett, Lilly Adams and Paisley Adams
3 siblings: Linnie Wright of Liberty, KY, Roseanna Adams of Pellyton, KY and Lloyd Sapp of Louisville, KY
Sister-in-law: Rosie Cravens of Lebanon, KY

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00amCT at Barnett’s Creek United Methodist Church
Burial: Barnett’s Creek Cemetery
Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Thursday morning.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barnett's Creek Cemetery Fund and can be left at the funeral home.
