ARGLE COFFEE MEEKS, 85,WINDSOR, KY

 

Argle Coffee Meeks, 85, of Windsor, KY passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Casey County Hospital. He was born January 13, 1936 in Liberty, KY, the son of the late Gloid & Alice Roberts Meeks.

 

Argle was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed his time with family as well as farming and gardening and drove a school bus for 30 years in the Casey County School System. Argle was a long-time fiddle player and enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music with his friends and served as fiddler for many well-known groups including Carl Story and the Rambling Mountaineers and Harold Austin and the First National Bluegrass. Argle attended Ono Community Church where he re-dedicated his life to the Lord. 

 

Besides his parents, Argle was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Delmer (Kathleen) Meeks and Chester (Lucy) Meeks, Marie (Elmer) Bernard, Opal (Elsie) Roy, Gladys (Elbert) Emerson, and Beatrice Meeks (who passed away as a child).

Wife: Phyllis Gosser Meeks of Russell Springs, KY
1 Daughter: Sheila Luttrell of Windsor, KY

1 Step-Daughter: Tammy Egnew (Ricky) of Russell Springs, KY

1 Step-Son: Alan Gosser (Mary Beth) of Russell Springs, KY

2 special nephews: Billy Roy and Joe Emerson 

Special niece: Rhonda Meeks

1 granddaughter: Cassie (Bryant) Gregory

3 great-grandchildren: Lilly, Justin and Valerie

1 great-grandchild: Easton Gregory

4 step-grandchildren: Laura (Jason) Davidson, Lindsay (Taylor) Gibson, Dustin Gosser, Jared (Jacklyn) Gosser

4 step-great grandchildren: Connor and London Davidson; Scout and Boone Gibson


Funeral Service: Friday, September 3, 2021 at 5:00pmET at Thomas Ridge Christian Church, Thomas Ridge Road, Dunnville, KY with Bro. Jason Davidson & Bro. Asa Wooten officiating 

Visitation: Friday from 2:30pm-5:00pmET at Thomas Ridge Christian Church

Interment: Thomas Ridge Cemetery, Dunnville, KY

Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
