H.M. Bottom, 82, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born in Russell Springs on September 23, 1939, a son of the late Homer & Edith (Anderson) Bottom.
H.M. was the Emergency Management Coordinator for Russell County, Russell Springs Fire Chief, and the ABC and Waste Management Coordinator.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lyman and Eugene Bottom and 4 sisters: Olena Akers, Maxene Clayton, Betty Foley and Carolyn Bottom.

4 great-grandchildren: Jasmine (Sam) Milam, Luke Luttrell, Brooks and Beckett Coffey
1 great-great-granddaughter: Milly Milam

Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1:00pmCT at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church with Honorable James Michael Lawson officiating
Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and on Wednesday after 8:00amCT at Russell Springs First Baptist Church
Interment: Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. West 80, Russell Springs, KY
The family requests donations to the Russell Springs Fire Department in memory of H.M. Bottom and can be made at the church.
Everyone attending visitation and the funeral service should wear a face covering (mask).
H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
The Russell County Courthouse (old courthouse) and the Russell County Road & Recycle Departments will be closed on Wednesday October 20, 2021 to pay their last respect to the passing of Russell County Emergency Management Director H.M. Bottom.
