Oliver “J.R.” Johnson, Jr., 69, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born on April 10, 1952 in Sumter, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Oliver Johnson, Sr. & Anne Brown Johnson.
J.R. was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a former construction contractor. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Tina, and spending time with his family. J.R. enjoyed good food and watching The Shepherds Chapel gospel program and old western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne.

1 great-grandchild: Braxton Wright of Bardstown & a great-granddaughter on the way, Paisley Shepperd
1 brother: Robert Johnson of South Carolina
2 sisters: Sandra Croft and Ginger Padula, both of South Carolina
In addition to his parents, J.R. was preceded in death by one son, Mitchell Marlow; one daughter, Leah Wilson; 3 brothers: Timothy Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Johnny Johnson; and 1 sister, Connie Anderson.

Burial: Bradley’s Pleasure Cemetery with military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard
