LOUISE IONA DUNCAN PEYTON, 91,

Louise Iona Duncan Peyton, 91, was born November 16, 1930 and raised in Monticello, KY.

She was a homemaker. She moved to Campbellsville, KY in 2017 to live with her daughter, Margie Hunter as that was her wish to be taken care of. She attended New Life Church of God of Holiness in Campbellsville, KY until being diagnosed with Dementia in 2020 and was no longer able to attend, but while at home, she loved watching preaching and listening to gospel music.

There would even be times in the home when one of her grand-daughters Carol Cowan would just sing songs to her with a couple of her favorite songs being “Jesus Loves Me” and “Amazing Grace”.

The different times of going into the hospital we would take time to sing to her or play music for her to listen to.She was never fond of going to doctor visits, or even staying in the hospital. But on December 30, 2021 as she laid in her hospital bed, she said, “I want to go back home to Margie’s house” as she knew she was close to end of life after being in the hospital battling pneumonia for 10 days. So on that same day, she was discharged and transported by EMS back home with Hosparus Care! That’s all she wanted was to be in her comfort zone which was Margie’s house.

As different grandchildren come to visit her, she would attempt to open her eyes and let them know she loved them as she always loved to have children around her!

On January 1, 2022 she was so fortunate to be able to see the New Year, but at 3:33 a.m. as one may look at as Trinity she gained her wings and transitioned to Heaven at the age of 91 years old. She will always be missed and never forgotten!

She was preceded in death by her parents: Mamie Brown Duncan and George Duncan; 2 sisters: Opal Duncan and Maxine Goggins; 3 brothers: Gene Duncan, Steve Duncan and Allen Duncan; 2 sons: Chester Lee Duncan and Eddie James Peyton; and one daughter, Carol Ann Duncan.
