Myrtie Ruth Abbott Parsley, 87, of Campbellsville, KY died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her residence in Campbellsville, KY. She was born on June 3, 1934 in Monticello, KY to the late Willie and Vie Ann Chriswell Abbott.
Mrs. Parsley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville and a retired art teacher at Green County High School. After retiring, she taught art at Campbellsville University College. She was more than a teacher to those who she taught; She considered her students family and stayed in contact with them up to the time of her death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt C. Parsley; 3 brothers: Robert Abbott, Roy Abbott and Ralph Abbott; and special friend Donnie Perry.
Funeral Service: Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00pmET at the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville, KY with Rev. Neil Salvaterra officiating
Burial: Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, KY
Visitation: Monday from 9:00amET until time for the service at the First United Methodist Church
Pallbearers: Jeff Pickett, Jeff Walker, Dave Debro, Shane Stonecipher, Roger Benningfield and Oval Tapscott
