Alta Lorine Pierce, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Meeks and Ophelia Horton Meeks Grider.
She married Finis Pierce in 1951. There are 10 children born to their union. After caring for her own children and family, Lorine became a Certified Nursing Assistant and cared for the elderly. Lorine loved to cook; she was known to make a feast from few ingredients. Her biscuits and red-eye gravy couldn’t be beat. She was an animal lover, especially horses, dogs and birds.For many years she kept every kind of birdhouse and would raise chickens, ducks and geese from eggs. Lorine attended The Solid Rock Church in Middletown. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Her Homegoing leaves a sadness for her family in her loss, but they have comfort in knowing where she is now.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finis Pierce, who passed away February 21, 2009; her step-father, John Grider; 2 brothers: James Meeks and Jerry Meeks; and 2 sisters: Linda Grider and Sarah Meeks.

10 children: Finis Pierce, Jr., Gary (Pearlie) Pierce, and James (Deborah) Pierce, all of Russell Springs, KY; Donna Oquendo of Joelton, Tennessee; Carol Tennett of Harrisburg, Illinois; Brenda (Rex) Williams of Clarksville, Tennessee; Cheryl (Cotton) Kerr, Judy (Randy) Hunter, Kathy (Paul) Boggess, all of Columbia, KY; and Sabrina (Roy) Walls of Frankfort, KY
2 brothers: Edward Meeks and Lee Roy Meeks both of Ashland City, Tennessee
Sister-in-law & best friend: Zenda Meeks of Sugartown, Louisiana
30 grandchildren & numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

Interment: Jamestown City Cemetery
