Mark Wayne Prater, 64. of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was born September 17, 1957 in Quantico, VA, a son of the late Daniel Wayne and Madeline Scales Prater.
Mark was a laboratory technician and lab supervisor for over 40 years. He was an employee at several medical facilities in his long career and was more recently employed at Premier Tox Laboratory. Mark enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and selling his produce at the Farmers’ Market. In recent years, he volunteered as an assistant coach for Russell County Youth League baseball. Mark was a member of Russell Springs First United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family, but his grandbabies were the center of his life.

8 grandchildren: Ciara (Taylor) Jones, Madeline Prater and Leigha Abner all of Russell Springs, KY; Brooklynn Romans, Lydia Wade, Cora Wade, Amelia Wade, and Jude Wade all of Lexington, KY
