Onia Mae Abell, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Huston Hoosier and Lottie Ellen Burress Hoosier, was born September 14, 1932 in Taylor County, KY. She died at her home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Campbellsville.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn United Methodist Church. Onia retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after 30 years of service. Onia brought joy and happiness to all her family and friends and was known to have a loving and generous heart.
She united in marriage to Johnnie Abell April 3, 1964 and he preceded her in death December 21, 2020.

1 daughter-in-law: LaWanna Abell of Campbellsville
1 stepson & stepdaughter: John Abell & wife Renee of Columbia and Kathy Kingdollar of Tennessee
4 grandchildren: Lisa Pyles & companion Lance Alexander of Shelbyville; Benjamin Callahan, Amanda Kelley & husband Josh and Willie Abell of Campbellsville
4 great-grandchildren: Lacee Pyles & husband Anthony, Ethan Kelley, Isaac Abell, and Maley Abell (several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren)
1 sister: Zelma Lotter of Campbellsville

Onia was also preceded in death by a stepson, Greg Abell; 2 sons-in-law: Michael Callahan and Billy Ellis; 1 great-grandchild, Grant Pyles; and 5 brothers & 4 sisters: Wilma Karnes, Bradley Hoosier, Jack Hoosier, Coakley Hoosier, Willie Hoosier, Velma Bailey, Elmer Hoosier, Nellie Goode, and Hettie McDonald.
