Billy Ray “Bill” Walton, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home. He was born in Oakland, Mississippi on April 21, 1937, the son of the late Ezra Harris and Effie Cook Walton.
Bill played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He was a founding member of the Russell County Rescue Squad, serving Russell County for 42 years, and was the first Emergency Medical Technician in Russell County. Bill was a member of Jamestown Christian Church and he loved to fish.

1 son: Ray (Melanie) Walton of Lexington
2 daughters: Maria Walton of Bowling Green and Lisa (Mike) Bradshaw of Jamestown
3 grandsons: Connor Walton, Jason (Andrea) Bradshaw, and Kyle Bradshaw
1 great-grandson: Caynan Bradshaw
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Derrington Walton, who passed away on July 19, 2020; a brother, E.H. Walton; and a sister, Irene Walker.
