Agnes Marie Beard, 100, of Jamestown, KY passed away from this life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Fair Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. She was born July 7, 1923 in Adair County, a daughter of the late Sethie and Gertie Holt Shepherd.
Agnes loved to quilt and crochet and made many beautiful handmade items over the years. She was a wonderful cook and made the best fried chicken and hoecakes in the world! Agnes was a member of Jamestown Christian Church. She taught Sunday School classes for many years, as well as helping with Bible School. The Bible was a very important part of her life, and she had read hers through numerous times. To all her grandchildren and beyond, she was just the very best “Nannie” that one could be.

14 great-grandchildren & 6 great-great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Beard; a son, Danny Wayne Beard; three brothers: Robert Shepherd, James Shepherd, Gerald (Teen) Shepherd; and four sisters: Audrey Pike, Margaret Griffin, Louise Harden, and Gladys (Elaine) Roy.
