Letha Marie Popplewell Osborne, 91, of Russell Springs, KY entered eternal life on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was the daughter of the late John Willie & Bessie Coffey Smith.
Marie was a devoted Christian throughout her life and a long time member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist church, where she proudly served many years as song leader. She retired as Floor Supervisor from Fruit of the Loom and spent her life working and serving others and being selflessly dedicated to her family and community. While working full time, she also spent years as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and helped manage the multiple ventures of the Popplewell Farm. She also loved singing karaoke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Desoto Popplewell, Jr. and their son, David Popplewell. Marie was blessed to later have another wonderful husband, Willard Osborne, who also preceded her in death along with her two sisters: Frances Dunbar and Manice Smith Wilson and three brothers: Curtis, Carmel “Bill”, and Curvan “Buster” Smith.

2 daughters: Sondra Valentine and Lila Cooper (Johnny)
9 grandchildren: Bradley (Marina) Cooper, Jessica (Eric) Popplewell-Bumm, Jared (Leslie) Popplewell, Scarlett (Carl) Devine, Melissa Cooper, Israel (Shelby) Burton, Derek (Ariel) Popplewell, Mailee Cooper and Chase Cooper
18 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren
