Avalee Huddleston, 88, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 25, 1935 in Adair County to the late Ed Lee and Alta Lloyd Huddleston.
Mr. Huddleston professed his faith in Christ and attended the Old Liberty Community Church and enjoyed visiting other churches in the community. Avalee was a simple man, with a smile and laugh that you would not forget, he was a hardworking man that started Huddleston Construction Company in the early 1980’s and worked in the construction business up to the age of 86. He was a walking horse owner and enjoyed attending horse shows with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, trapping, and ginseng hunting, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed picking fruit and giving to anyone that he met, this gesture made him known as “The Apple Man”.

8 grandchildren: Natasha McElroy (Brian), Josh Huddleston (Olivia), Jonathan Begley (Jennie), Troy Huddleston (Tiffany), Levi Huddleston (Kassidy), Quinton Huddleston (Addie), Isaac Roy, and Jaylee Roy
11 great-grandchildren
Several nieces, nephews, friends, & other relatives
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Raymond Huddleston, Pauline Cochran, and Gilliam Huddleston.
Funeral service: Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Huddleston officiating
Burial: Melson Cemetery
Visitation: Friday 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and will continue Saturday until time for the service
