Bernice Johnson, 84, was born April 25, 1939 in Russell Springs, KY and died Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her daughter’s home in South Carolina, under hospice care due to Alzheimer’s.
Bernice loved growing up with her large family and helping on the farm. She often told stories of the antics she and her brothers and sisters would get into. Bernice embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity. She had a servant’s heart and lived by 1 Peter 4:10, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others".
Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the West 80 Church of God, where she had many friends and where she loved to help in whatever capacity she could.
Her beloved husband, Houston Johnson, died in 1997 and Bernice was looking forward to seeing him in Heaven.
