Jay Edwin Brown, 63, Columbia, KY


Jay Edwin Brown, 63, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on February 27, 1961 in New Castle, IN to the late J.H. Brown and Alice Marie Sneed Murphy.

 

Mr. Brown was of the Christian faith and formerly worked for Walmart. He enjoyed listening to music, riding the countryside, and spending time with family and friends.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 brother: James Brown of Columbia, KY

His stepfather: Charles Murphy of Columbia, KY

2 stepsons: Frankie and Michael Branch

1 half-brother: Andrew Murphy of Glasgow, KY

Nieces & nephews: Jessica Gose (Justin), Christopher Brown (Allie), Candace Wooten, and Dawn Scroggins (David)

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, great-nieces & nephews and many friends

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Eller and his life partner, Suzie Branch.

 

Funeral Service: Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro Elbert Hadley officiating

 

Burial: Antioch Cemetery

 

Visitation: Monday after 9:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

 

Pallbearers: Christopher Brown, Justin Gose, Odell Wooten, Andrew Murphy, Danny Sneed, and James Murphy
 

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
