Benjamin Harrison Bernard, 91, Russell Springs, KY


Benjamin Harrison Bernard, 91, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born December 4, 1932 in Russell County, a son of the late Benjamin Jack and Angie Coffey Bernard. 
 

Benjamin was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and just being outdoors. Benjamin also liked raising a garden, cooking, and canning. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Benjamin attended the Bernard Ridge Church of God.

 

SURVIVORS:

2 daughters: Crystal (Bennie) Chaney of Russell Springs and Sherry (Dan) Kappes of Frankfort

4 grandchildren: Roger Chaney of Russell Springs, Nicholas Kappes and Aaron Kappes of Frankfort, and Stephen (Christie) Kappes of Amelia, Ohio

1 great-granddaughter: Brooklyn Kappess

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Willis Bernard; a son, Barry Bernard; and by four brothers and three sisters.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00amCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Caleb Shirley officiating

 

Burial: Lucinda Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 9:00amCT on Saturday at the funeral home
