Glendal Sullivan, 85, Russell Springs, KY

 
Glendal Sullivan, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. He was born at home, in Russell Springs, on May 4, 1939, one of fourteen children born to the union of Lilburn and Jewell Harvey Sullivan. 
 
Glendal worked as a drywaller in the construction industry throughout his life and was a faithful member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. He was a very kind and gentle man, who never spoke an ill word about anyone. 
 
SURVIVORS:
3 children: Jeff (Nancy) Abernathy of Columbia, Tim (Sandy) Abernathy and Jean Wilson both of Russell Springs
3 brothers: Kermit (Wilma) Sullivan of Indiana; Jerry (Wanda) Sullivan and Larry (Betty) Sullivan both of Russell Springs
2 sisters: Bernice Nichols of Georgia and Virginia Patterson of Indiana
9 grandchildren: Taylor Abernathy, Christopher Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Jenny Allen, Bethany Coffey, Garrett Lawless, Amanda Wells, Keith Price, and Jennifer Coffey Appleby
16 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren
 
In addition to his parents, Glendal was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Gay Brown Abernathy Sullivan, who passed away on February 19, 2006; two daughters: Janet Lawless and Betty Price; five brothers: Clifton Sullivan, Alvis Sullivan, Donald Sullivan, Harold Sullivan, and Glendo Sullivan; and three sisters: Alberta Woods, Doris McGowan, and Judy Sullivan. 
 
Funeral Service: Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00amCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Smith officiating
 
Burial: Wilkerson Cemetery - Per Glendal’s wishes, there will not be any graveside services
 
Visitation: Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5:00-8:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home and Friday morning after 7:30amCT until time of service 
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to Wilkerson Cemetery, c/o Brenda Wade, 6594 E Hwy 80, Russell Springs, Kentucky 42642. Donations can also be made at the funeral home.
