Maurice Leon Shearer, 89, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in the Cundiff Community of Adair County on April 18, 1935 to the late Ernest Harrison and Gertrude Watson Shearer.
Mr. Shearer was of the Christian faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan and enjoyed vegetable gardening and spending time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews.

1 niece: Sheila Collins (Darrell) of Shepherdsville, KY
1 nephew: David Compton (Elisha) of Sellersburg, IN
Great niece & nephew: Amanda Collins Milby (Dustin) and Ryan Collins (Emily) both of Shepherdsville, KY
5 great-great-nieces & nephews: Hattie, Harper, & Millie Compton, and Molly & Callie Milby
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Treva Compton and her husband, Harold Compton.
