Orvis Gene Reese, 80, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Russell County on November 24, 1943, a son of the late Bro. Olvest T. and Jewell Burton Reese.
Orvis was a proud US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed his time that he was stationed in Germany and always wanted to return there for a visit. He was a retired grocery store manager. Orvis was of the Christian faith and had been baptized. He enjoyed reading his Bible and had read it through many times. Orvis loved trading knives and coins and going to flea markets.

2 brothers: Kenneth Reese and David (Vickie) Reese, both of Russell Springs
Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Roy Reese who passed away on September 11, 2008 and by one brother, A.G. Reese.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. John Bennett and Bro. Carter Stewart officiating
Burial: Freedom Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard
Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Wednesday at the funeral home
Pallbearers: Members of the Russell County Honor Guard
