Fred C. Scheetz, 84, of Russell Springs, KY passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 13, 1939, the son of the late Audra and Russell Webster.
Fred was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel for over 50 years. He loved his life on his Kentucky farm with his wife, Debbie, and his constant companion, Jack Russell. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and showing them all the wonders of Kentucky. An avid hunter and fisherman, Fred loved the outdoors. He had a special passion for beagles and beagling, and was a past president of the United Beagle Gundog Federation (UBGF). Alongside his wife, Debbie, he trained, trialed, and bred beagles, gaining a notable reputation within the UBGF family. Fred was inducted into the United Beagling Gundog Hall of Fame and proudly finished eleven beagles to field champion status within his 15 years of active membership. He even produced his own bloodline of winning beagles. Throughout his life, Fred enjoyed playing sports including football, softball, bowling, and golf. He also loved camping, horseshoes, antiquing, and many other interests. Fred lived life to the fullest. He retired from Navistar International Harvester as General Superintendent after 30 years of service. Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Francis (Richard) Tossey of Springfield.
Per Fred’s wishes, cremation rites were honored by Bernard Funeral Home.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
