Maxwell Barkley Hancock, 85, of Greensburg, KY passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2024 at his residence. During his illness, Max was surrounded by family and friends and passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was born August 12, 1938 in the Fry community of Greensburg to the late Ammon and Grace Buckner Hancock.
Max was a hardworking man, a lifelong farmer. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army as an MP. Max loved his family and cherished old friends. He was known for his honesty, integrity, work ethic, compassion, his dedication to provide for others, and his devotion to the Lord. Max was a man of meaningfulness and of his word. He was a good neighbor and friend to many, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

2 sons: Barkley Hancock (Brandy) and Kirby Hancock (Robin)
4 grandchildren: Sarah Redmon (Michael), Dylan Hancock, Hayden Hancock, and Hudson Hancock
1 great grandchild: Behr Hancock
Sister-in-law: Brenda Hancock

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by five siblings: F.B. “Buck” Hancock, Russell Hancock, Kayvena Davis, Allison Hancock, and Talmadge Hancock.
Funeral service: Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Erik Riddle and Bro. Robbie Harmon officiating
Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation: Friday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Saturday morning until time for the service
Pallbearers: Dylan Hancock, Hayden Hancock, Hudson Hancock, Sarah Redmon, Michael Redmon, and Wesley Melson.
