Karen Susan Kafka, 66, of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at T. J. Health Columbia. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 9, 1958, to the late Anthony A. and Laurel E. Harrod Pietsch.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Anton Pietsch.
Mrs. Kafka was an Elementary School Teacher and an Equestrian business owner and rider. She was also an equestrian riding instructor and participated in the NATRC cross country rides earning many awards. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

2 sons: Alexander and Andrew Kafka
1 brother: Robert Pietsch
The family chose cremation and a private service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hosparus Health Green River or the Vanderbilt Cancer Center in Karen’s name.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
