Sherman D. “Dean” Gillock, 72, of the Acton Community in Taylor County, KY, the son of the late Floyd Herron Gillock and Olivine Hadley Adams, was born in Danville, KY on March 26, 1952 and departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2024 at his residence.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Feathersburg Church of God where he loved to serve. He was a retired truck driver, and enjoyed socializing and “loafing”, and a good cup of coffee.

3 children: Deanna Carol Barnes & husband James of Campbellsville, Kristy Ann Gay & husband Matthew of Florida, and Tyler Blake Gillock & wife Cindy of Knifley
4 grandchildren: Kayla Barnes, Lylah Barnes, Destiny Rhoades, and Dylan Rhoades
3 siblings: Larry Gillock (Brenda) of Russell Springs, Herlin Gillock of Dunnville, and Wilma Owens (Bob) of Florida
Special friends: Gene & Phyllis Wilson
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings: Shirley Shoopman, May Elliott, Shirl Gillock, Vina Marks, and Hollis Gillock.

Burial: Callahan Cemetery
Visitation: Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET and Thursday after 7:00amET at the funeral home
