Edward A. Skates, Jr, 78, of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Emerald Coast, Ft. Walton Beach. He was born in Chattanooga, TN on July 29, 1946, a son of the late Pearl (Lewis) and Edward A Skates, Sr.
Mr. Skates served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War and had a lawn care business.

1 daughter: Michelle Roy (Stevie) of Jamestown, KY
1 brother: Jim Skates (Elaine) of Florida
3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Faye Dykes and 2 brothers: David and Richard Skates
Funeral Service: Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 2:00pmCT at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Stevie Roy officiating
Visitation: After 12:00pmCT on Sunday
Burial: Jamestown Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard
H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in charge of arrangements.
