Kenneth Roe “Wolfman” Robertson, 91, of Russell Springs, KY died Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. He was born on February 2, 1933, a son of the late Ollis and Ica Luttrell Robertson.
Kenneth was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from August 18, 1955 to August 18, 1957 at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Fort Riley Kansas and Fort Collins Colorado. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and a member of New Friendship United Baptist Church.
In March of 1962, Robertson began his embalmer and funeral director apprenticeship at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY and was a 1965 graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville, KY.
On July 13, 1965, Mr. Robertson received his funeral directors license and on January 19, 1966 obtained his embalmers license from the Kentucky State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
In the 1960’s, Mr. Robertson was appointed to the District Board of the Russell County Baptist Association and to the Russell County Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
April 1, 1974 Russell County awarded Mr. Robertson with a contract to operate Robertson’s Ambulance Service and by mid-December the same year, finally received official license from the state to operate. At the time he was running Robertson Ambulance Service, employed at Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty, KY and had also worked for a funeral home in Morehead, KY a short time.
In August 2015, Mr. Robertson received his 50 Years of Service Pin from the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association. He had also worked for Russell Farm Supply and did farm-related work, gravel hauling and other jobs around the community. At the time of his passing, Mr. Robertson was the oldest licensed funeral director and embalmer in the area and had worked for over 20 years at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY.
Kenneth Roe Robertson, known by many as “Wolfman”, was well loved and respected for his work in community service and being there for people when they needed him most. He was also proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army.

6 grandchildren: Eric, Kendra, Elizabeth, Cody, Blake and Rebecca
Special nieces & nephews: Amanda & Preston Robertson and Wayne & Paula
11 great-grandchildren & 2 step-great grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Allen Robertson, who died December 1, 1972 and a brother, J.C. Robertson.

Interment: Robertson Family Cemetery with military honors presented by the Russell County Honor Guard
Visitation: After 4:00pmCT on Saturday, December 7, 2024 and Sunday morning until time of service at Wilson Funeral Home
