Gerald Ray “Jerry” Miller, 71, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Arizona State Soldiers Home in Tucson, Arizona after a lengthy illness. He was born in Knifley, KY to the late Ray Miller and Margaret Marie Miller of Lexington, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Hare of Columbia, KY.
Gerald joined the US Army at the age of 19, serving 22 years as an Infantry Soldier and a heavy equipment mechanic. He served the bulk of his career in Germany where he met his wife. He was a member of American Legion China Post, VFW Post 12043 and the Military Order of the Cooties 4008. He served in multiple wartime locations and was proudest of his service and of being from Kentucky. He had a wry sense of humor, loved to talk, tell war stories and interact with friends and family.

2 grandchildren: Connor and Adriana.
2 sisters: Connie Leathers Tetreau (Gerard) of Lexington, North Carolina and Aleta Miller of Winston-Salem, North Carolina,
3 brothers: Dean Miller (Norma) of Knifley, KY, Darryl Miller (Julie) of Glens Fork, KY, and Dwight Miller (Roxie) of Hawkinsville, Georgia
7 nieces & nephews & 3 great-nieces & nephews
Funeral Service: Monday, December 16, 2024 at 12:00pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia, KY
Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Monday at the funeral home
Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097
Casket Bearers: Charlie Crawhorn III, Donald Hare, Shawn Hare, Greg Miller, Menno Miller, and Brier Phelps
